What do you expect?
whispered The Master in my ear,
that everytime a good you do-
a praise that you will hear?
Behold! All that you
lay eyes on I've made from nothing!
Now, listen closely, listen well...
Is it my Name they're blessing?
What do you expect?
Whispered the Master in my ear,
that everytime a good you do-
a praise that you will hear?
Oh Lord! Forgive this
foolish servant's ingratitude...
The million times I've failed to thank
You for Your boundless good!
Cause me, Your name, to daily bless,
as every creature should;
teach me to not complain-
speak more often of Your good.
Authors personal commentary:
I woke up this morning wishing people took more note of the good I try to do in this world, but The Lord seemed to speak to my heart and this poem was jotted down directly after that conversation. The last stanza is my prayer to the Lord. How long has it been since you've publicaly praised God for His good? When was the last time you said thank you to Jesus in the privacy of your heart?
I Remain, your fellow human & poet,
Zach
